Celebrity hacker got 10 years prison

Christopher Chaney, a celebrity hacker, stole and posted private information from more than 50 celebrities, and is now sentenced to prison.

The celebrity hacker was sentenced to 10 years in prison by U.S. District Judge James Otero. He was found guilty in hacking into dozens of celebrities’ e-mail accounts and posting their private information on the Internet. There were more than 50 victims from the entertainment industry, but only a some of them agreed to be identified by name with the hope of garnering awareness about online information theft.

Chaney admitted to hacking into their accounts, obtaining private e-mails and confidential documents, publicizing their personal information, and sending photos to two celebrity Web sites. Among his victims were Mila Kunis, Scarlett Johansson, Christina Aguilera, Simone Harouche, and Renee Olstead.
